AAU National Championship FAQ's:

-16HP/16G/16S/17HP/17G/18HP Parent accommodations- Parents are welcome to make their own hotel arrangements OR use the IPV block at Hilton Garden Inn.

-Do you know what days they will be playing at the Orange County Convention Center?
Typically, the majority of the play will be at the Convention Center. Schedules don't come out until right before the tournament so I don't when or if they will be scheduled at the Wide World of Sports.

-Do they play on the 23rd (13B) or 27th (the day we leave Florida)?
Yes, the teams play on the final day (13's- 6/23, 16/17's- 6/27) so we ask that you plan later flights since we have no way of knowing how late they will be.

-Do the IPV girls get to spend any time at the Disney Parks?
Playing for 4 days in a row is pretty exhausting so the teams do not typically go to a park. They generally go to Downtown Disney and a few have gone to a water park using a half day ticket. Teams staying in homes have their own pools, hot tubs and game rooms plus there is a clubhouse with a big pool, movie theater, etc.

-Players traveling along
Players traveling alone should try to book on the coaches flight or with another family. The coaches will pick up the rental vans at the Orlando airport and will include any players traveling alone in their car. Players on different flights will need to make arrangements with Patti prior to the trip.

16HP/16G/16S/17HP/17G teams staying in homes:

-Do players report to their chaperones at the rental home on June 23?

We take care of the airport transportation for the players traveling alone but players coming in with their parents meet us at the house on the 23rd.

- Do teams spend their entire time with their team till the end of the last game on June 27?
Teams stay together throughout the event. They may choose to invite the parents to the house for dinner or out to a restaurant but for the most part the teams see their parents at the playing site.

- Should players be picked up by their parents at a designated spot on the 27th?
Everything has to be out of the house on the morning of the 27th so parents attending the tournament will need to stop by the house the night before or morning of to pick up the players things. Players traveling alone will leave their things in the team van on the 27th. Everyone leaves from the tournament site.
